The AI cost apocalypse is now here. Today was the last business day when the (relatively) cheap AI was available. From here on out, pretty much all the players in the space are charging by the token. I suspect that within a couple months or so (after all, one company had a $500 million dollar bill, so that should pay some bills), we’ll see many companies heavily restrict how much AI is being used, or push harder for local AI.

Truth be told, I have very little sympathy for the AI companies.
