Musing 151

151 - the first thing that comes to mind are the fun times I had playing Pokemon as a kid. From borrowing my friend’s gameshark to get a few mews, only to have 1 of them permanently bugged, causing it to level up from 0 to 255 and cycle all over again.

Games provide such an easy way to make friends and build bonds, even as adults. Life is so often filled with seriousness and levity brings momentary healing. But in turn, the seriousness of life tests those bonds as we grow and time passes.

Will we learn to hold our friends close? Or will we strike it on our own?

Scripture teaches us the value of friendship. But it points us to the One who is our closest friend. When we feel we cannot turn to our friends here on earth, He will always help us bear our burden. And instead of the heavy burden we bear, Jesus gives us a light burden that brings comfort, even when the world is at war with us.
