Musing 155
There were many bits of wisdom I got from my dad growing up.
A couple of those quips are “If you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough” a fairly common one, and one I haven’t heard as frequently is “If you’re gonna be dumb, people are gonna laugh at you”.
And as I’ve gotten older, I tire of online stupidity way quicker than I used to. Misrepresentations online that even just a few years ago, I would’ve been gungho to step into and correct . . . I just am like “you know what, they can go be dumb elsewhere”.
In biblical terms, when I was younger, I tended to the Proverb that encouraged correcting fools. As I’ve gotten older, the venn diagram of fools I’m willing to correct and the people I know IRL has become almost a circle.
Whether that is good or bad, I don’t know. But I don’t really regret it.
