2026 is definitely doing its best to ramp up my anxiety. Whether its leaders being hellbent on putting AI in a position to autonomously end human lives when said AI is also notorious for ignoring instructions and doing its own thing, or the constant threat of losing a job through increased automation, sources of anxiety abound in this fallen world.
And as a father, I feel that 100x more than I did when I was single. And while I’m still learning, I have been slowly growing in my ability to lean on the Prince of Peace in the midst of anxiety that, if given a chance, would love to pick at my perfectionism and crush me.
But as we start the 3rd month of 2026, my prayer for us all is that we pray for leaders who will let us live a peaceful life to spread the gospel. We are not necessarily called to shake the world in the way the world understands it, but we are called to be faithful as the world hates us because the comfort and love of our Lord surpasses all understanding, knowing that God gives aboundingly to His children, despite the world taking away whatever it can.
