While I don’t intend to ever write my own catechism, if I did, I think I’d start with these 3 questions and answers -

What is the chief end of man? To glorify God and enjoy him forever.

Why do you say that? Because He created us and placed us in this world to be glorified in us. And it is indeed right that our life, of which He Himself is the beginning, should be devoted to His glory

What is the application of this knowledge?
That I, with body and soul, both in life and in death, am not my own, but belong to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who with His precious blood4 has fully satisfied for all my sins, and redeemed me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that all things must work together for my salvation. Wherefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live unto Him.
While a transparent copy of the Westminster, Genevan and Heidelberg catechisms, I like the flow of this as it, from the beginning, orients our lives towards God and brings it home.
