Musing 77

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve increasingly found I am more and more sensitive to my body’s failings. Whether it’s an increased vasovagal response to needles, more easily becoming crabby if I don’t get enough sleep, or whatever the feeling may be, each is just another reminder that death is one day closer.

No matter what happens, do not forget that despite the world’s promises to digitally back us up (. . . eventually, once the tech gets there), our physical bodies will fail. And even if the world does succeed in uploading our memories to the cloud, hardware fails. Drives and data gets corrupted. Accidental destruction happens.

Because of this, make sure to be sure of your eternal destination. We are not guaranteed each day and do not know when we must be called home to give account for our lives and actions. Make sure that when that time comes, you have Jesus to speak for you as your advocate. No one else will do.
